If you have just had a telephone interview and you want to follow this up with a simple thank you then it is important to make notes on your telephone interview as you go along or immediately after so that you do not forget the details of your conversation.
Once you have your notes and you are prepared them you need to think about how to structure your letter or sample note via email to the company who interviewed you.

I found the telephone interview very informative and I was very interested to hear about the company and the position that you have available. I hope that I managed to explain my skills and experiences in enough detail to ensure that you know I would be interested in this role.
THIS is where you need to put some of the telephone conversation detail in. How would you do the position well, how does your experiences relate to what they are looking for? Recap over putting emphasis on these areas, use similar words and language that they did on the telephone.
